#BookSubscriptionBoxReview Along The Spine “Read Along” Box (September 2021)

Hello Book Dragons! After a prolonged pause, I am back with the reviews of the boxes I received but was too busy (or lazy) to write about. 😀 In September I bought a “Read Along” box from Along The Spine (Instagram @along_the_spine). I found her account on Instagram, she does not do monthly subscription boxes, more likely themed boxes. The box was £15.99 + £3.50 postage.

“Along the spine is a bookish shop that specializes in themed book boxes and other bookish goodies such as enamel pins, bookmarks & stationary. Our brand prides itself on supporting and sourcing bookish gifts for our boxes from other small businesses. We work closely with a fantastic set of suppliers and also have connections with big publishers and authors to help bring the very best releases and titles to our products.  Any fellow book lover can find something for themselves here at along the spine! we believe in bringing something different, new and exciting to the industry and at affordable prices.” (Source) Without further do, here are the items I received in the box.

In the box, I have received a YA book with reading cards as well as a packet of Candy Kittens a bookmark and a Thank you card.

The blurb of the book and you can find it here:

Subject: You. Missing.

Ezra wakes one day to find his sister gone. No note, no sign, nothing but an email address hidden somewhere only he would find it.

Escaping their toxic home life, Bea finds herself alone in a new city – without friends, without a real plan – chasing someone who might not even want to be found.

As things unravel at home for Ezra, Bea confronts secrets about their past that will forever change the way they think about their family. Separated by distance but connected by love, this brother and sister must learn to trust themselves before they can find a way back to each other.

The book sounds really intriguing, it has a great rating on Amazon, and the sweets were delicious but I was disappointed with this box. Was it affordable? Yes. Was it a good value for money? For me, not so much. I still got a few months to explore the book box subscription market and I hope I will find something to blow me away. 🙂

Thank you for your time!
