What I learned from this book: That it is ok to be the odd one out.
Description of the book: From the moment Stick Boy and his family move to Little Town, there is way more to worry about than being the new kid. There’s a mysterious plot involving Baron Ben’s new Mega Mall, pop star Jonny Vidwire and the highly suspicious HomeBots that are infiltrating every home in town. Can Stick Boy and his friends uncover the evil plan behind it all before it’s too late?
How this book made me feel: I was very drawn to this book because it is different. How a simple stick boy can survive in a 3D world. It is colourful, unique and enjoyable.
The main character in this book is Stick Boy. He has been bullied all his life because he is different. It does sound sad and depressing, but when he meets a few friends who accept him for who he is, their real adventures begin. There is a wide variety of good and evil characters, the later ones really made my blood boil sometimes. 😀
I really enjoyed the plot of this story. It is filled with adventures as well as serious and disturbing topics. The topics discussed were bullying, the difficulty of being different, family relations, privacy invasion, technologies in people’s lives and many more. I absolutely loved the illustrations, and the overall delivery of the book is very high quality, including the materials used. The writing style is easy to read and enjoyable. The chapters might feel a little to the longer side, but the fun illustrations even out the longness. I really liked the ending of this novel, it rounded this story very well.
So, to conclude, it is an interesting read, highlighting bullying, filled with a variety of characters, some likeable and some not so much. 😀 The plot is full of adventures and interesting life lessons. I really enjoyed it, and I hope that your little ones will enjoy it too. Can’t wait for more books in the future. 🙂
Thank You for your time! ❤
